ABSTRACT
INEP – Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas of Guinea Bissau and the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra, through the project CROME, are organising a discussion around the colonial past and the processes of resistance that opposed this colonialism. The colloquium proposes a reflection about the uses of the past, the experience of violence and the politics of memory in the times and places they were institutionalised. The meeting is an opportunity to present and discuss the colonial war and the liberation struggles in different national contexts and to assess news research routes that are being developed in different academic spaces.
