• Rethink colonial wars and liberation struggles from a diachronic and comparative perspective.
   
• Examine the differentiated ways in which during the last four decades the war was represented in each national context and in different instances of production of political memories.
   
• Analyse the dialectic relationship between politics of memory and politics of silence.
   
• Assess both the dissonances and the intersections between different memories of the colonial war and liberation struggles.
