^ABSTRACT
The Amílcar Cabral Cátedra, the Laboratório de Pesquisa em Ciências Sociais, the Centre for Social Studies and the project CROME are organising a discussion around processes of memorialisation and forgetting referent to the colonial past and the processes of resistance that opposed this colonialism. The colloquium proposes a reflection about the uses of the past, the experience of violence and the politics of memory in the times and places they were institutionalised.

The meeting is an opportunity to present and discuss both the history of the memory of different national contexts and the research routes which are being developed in different academic spaces.
