OVERVIEW
Visual artist César Schofield Cardoso and architect Patti Anahory present the artistic installations ‘Ferrugem/Rust’, ‘Volumetrias [Vazias] de Memórias/Volumes [Empty] of Memories’ and ‘Pedestais de [ex]clusão/Pedestals of [x]clusion’ developed at the Tarrafal Concentration Camp in 2017.
These artistic works aim to address the Tarrafal Concentration Camp not only in its past historical role, but also as a space for the reproduction of continuous symbolic violences. A place where they believe it is necessary to refine the museological project, and where, paradoxically, there is a reproduction of violences and exclusions, symbolic and others.
